Rules/explanations:

Must be goth. Read the wiki/FAQ if you're unsure.

One band per letter. Any attempt to nominate a band already featured will be ignored.

Doesn't have to be an album. Can be an EP.

Please post only one album per comment so I know what you're voting for. (It's easier to keep track of) You can comment multiple times, though.

Each round ends after 24 hours. (Inconsistent schedule, I post whenever I feel like it)

Articles could count or be ignored for the next word.

Best/favourite album that starts with J? (Besides the obvious/predictable Siouxsie albums..)

Current list:

A – Adrenaline by Rosetta Stone

B – Body and Soul by The Sisters of Mercy

C – Closer by Joy Division

D – Disintegration by The Cure

I basically walked right into that one, didn't I? But come on guys, show some love and appreciation to the other four albums. They're pretty solid as well.

Anyway, rules/explanations (will be writing this for every post in case somebody just stumbles upon it):

Must be goth. Read the sidebar/wiki/FAQ if you're unsure.

One band per letter. Any attempt to nominate a band already featured will be ignored.

Doesn't have to be strictly an album, can be an EP.

Please post only one album per comment so I know what exactly you're nominating. (Plus it's easier to keep track of.) You can comment multiple times though.

Best/favourite album that starts with E?

You guys absolutely sure you want The Sisters of Mercy to win B? Ok then. Don't be mad at me when I ignore them for F.

Example: An Eye for the Main Chance by Rosetta Stone could be either A or E.

So, favourite/best favourite album that starts with C?

I've decided to start a game where people will comment and vote for their favourite goth albums from A to Z! Here are some rules and explanations.

Must be goth. Read the rules/FAQ/wiki.

One band per letter. I'd like to try to give recognition and appreciation to as many bands as possible. Don't just suggest the bands everybody has heard of many times.

It doesn't have to strictly be an album! Could be an EP for bands who have never officially released any albums.

Let me know of you have any further questions!

Now then, what is the best/your favourite album that starts with A?

Mine is probably Christine- Siouxie and the Banshees

I love groups like Siouxsie and all but I like to keep an eye out for the real niche stuff too. One group which might count as underrated is Plastique Noir, a darkwave band which has about 40k montly listeners on Spotify. Not super well known but hardly fully unknown either.

A band that definitely counts as underrated though is Sister Medusa, another darkwave band who have like 10 monthly Spotify listeners. No clue how I stumbled upon them but I'm glad I did, they have a really catchy esoteric sound which I reccomend trying out.

Anyone have any other suggestions for bands that you feel no one else knows about?. Looking for some real obscure stuff here

I love Jolene by Strawberry Switchblade!

As the title says, what are your favourite goth or goth adjacent songs to play on bass?

I'm a somewhat beginner bass player (I've only been playing for 2 years) and wanted to learn some new songs to expand my repertoire.

For me, most of the goth bands / artists I listen to come from, in order from most to least:

1. UK
2. Germany
3. Japan
4. United States
5. Spain

Trying to find some new songs to learn on my bass 🙂 Love the bass in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang by Specimen and Figurative Theatre by Christian Death
